
Dr. Peter Som graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin. He attended New York University Medical School and then did a medical internship and a radiology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He is currently a Professor of Radiology, Otolaryngology, and Radiation Oncology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University.
Dr. Som is known as one of the pioneers of current day Head and Neck Imaging. He has authored over 450 peer reviewed papers, articles, and chapters and his book Head and Neck Imaging, now in its fourth edition, is considered the definitive text on this subject. Dr. Som is also a highly sought after lecturer, and he has lectured almost 600 times both Nationally and Internationally. He was one of the founding members of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology and received that societys Gold Medal in 2004.
